A happy family, re-united!
Playing with his sweet babies! They were so excited to see him!
Break my heart! They were asking their daddy if he would ride home with them and if he would buckle them into their seat belts, things we take for granted every day.
8:45 pm this evening, a beautiful family was re-united with their husband and their daddy on his return from serving our nation.
This was the MOST emotional shoot I've ever done! As a child of the military, I know the emotions these sweet babies were feeling when they saw their daddy for the first time in a LONG time. I met Mrs. Lewis at Trim's For Tata's-an event myself and the Fringe hair salon arranged several months ago to aide in donations for breast cancer. She told me of her husbands absence overseas and that he would be due home in March. I told her it was a HUGE dream of mine to shoot the arrival and capture all the emotions that came along with it. I was so glad when I got a phone call from her a week ago saying her husband was FINALLY coming home and that she wanted to do this! Oh man...talk about the emotions! I was so excited for him to walk through that terminal and can't even imagine what Mrs. Lewis was feeling knowing he was making his steps towards them! The pictures tell the rest of this story. I hope you enjoy this post. It is the dearest one to my heart to date. I want to thank you Mr. Lewis for allowing me to capture this and also for your service to our country. Welcome home sir!
